Matthew Sperber, DDS
Practice Owner/Dentist
Dr. Matt first became interested in dentistry at a young age. His mother, despite having excellent oral health, has had about every dental procedure in the book, many of them more than once. Dr. Matt often accompanied her to dental appointments growing up and was conflicted by his growing love of dentistry and his mother’s growing hatred of the dentist.
His love for dentistry won and Dr. Matt obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Columbia University. His desire to perform comprehensive general dentistry led him to complete his general practice residency at Newark Beth Israel, where he saw a high volume of medically and dentally complex cases.
Dr. Matt has also completed advanced training in implant placement, root canal therapy, and Invisalign®. In order to win his mother over, he became involved in research aimed at reducing anxiety in dental patients and is passionate about putting nervous patients at ease. After completion of his residency, he relocated to South Carolina where he has been practicing in a busy private practice.
Dr. Matt and his wife Lauren have a new daughter, Allie, and two dogs, Mimi and Molly. They love exploring their community, cooking, running, and soaking up the South Carolina sunshine. Dr. Matt is also an avid skier, although it may be time to trade in his snow skis for water skis. He loves getting to know his patients and learning about their lives in addition to their dental concerns.
Michael Dudleck, DMD
Dentist
Dr. Michael’s passion for dentistry stemmed from his own personal experience growing up. An impacted canine tooth led to years of dental visits, braces, and more dental visits. He was fortunate enough to be treated by an incredible team of providers that not only saved his smile, but set an example for the gentle, patient-centered care Dr. Michael now provides to his own patients.
The Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine brought Dr. Michael to Charleston, SC, just a short drive from his hometown of Myrtle Beach, SC. Having already adapted to the unrelenting SC summer heat, he quickly fell in love with the Charleston charm and decided this is where he wanted to plant his roots. A General Dentistry Residency at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine required him to briefly relocate to North Carolina, where Dr. Michael had the opportunity to gain advanced training in implant placement, digital dentistry, and Invisalign. Despite the many weekends spent commuting between NC and SC, he was grateful for the endless hours his drive gave him to soak up dental podcasts and keep up with the latest advances in Dentistry. All the additional hours of learning paid off when he received the honor of speaking at his graduation – a true testament to his work and success during his time in the program. Dr. Michael loves being in a field that allows him to be a lifelong learner, and is always looking for new ways to deliver the absolute best care to his patients.
When Dr. Michael is not in the office, you truly never know what he may be up to. He loves anything he can do outdoors to soak up the Charleston sun – from grilling, golfing, watching sports, to adventuring with his corgi, Nova. On rainy days, you can find him playing chess, sketching, watching comedy shows, or reminding his twin brother that he’s the oldest by three minutes. Dr. Michael absolutely loves what he does, and is so grateful to the incredible patients that entrust him with their care.
Bethany Leedy, DDS
Dentist
Dr. Leedy knew from an early age that she wanted to work with her hands. The daughter of a carpenter, she was no stranger to a variety of hands-on projects growing up and she loved every second of it. After getting to know her family dentist and having nothing but incredible, welcoming, and positive experiences, she asked to shadow him to explore the possibility of utilizing her love for working hands on to be an exceptional dentist. After a few days of shadowing she knew she had found her calling.
Equally as impressive as her genuine care and regard for her patients is Dr. Leedy’s training and accolades. She attended the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and attended the Dental College of Georgia for an advanced training in complex dental treatment for her residency. This provided her with specialized training in implant crowns, bridges, and dentures. Dr. Leedy thrives on the variety of dentistry and took full advantage of the opportunity to master a full scope of dental procedures. Her vast accomplishments include selection by her class to complete an Implant Prosthodontics Clerkship, induction into the Gorgas Honors Society and Gamma Pi Dental Prosthodontic Society, and awarding of the American College Prosthodontics Pre-Doctoral Achievement Award and the Academy of General Dentistry Award.
Dr. Leedy truly excels at everything she does- from the highly technical procedures she performs, to her ability to connect with her patients and put them at ease. She feels so fortunate to have the privilege of having her patients trust her as their provider, and is committed to fostering a comfortable environment with exceptional dental care to help her patients improve their health and confidence.
When she’s not busy bringing dental dreams to life in the office, you’ll find her with her sweet rescue pup, Olivia, or trying new restaurants and coffee shops in Charleston.
